Wuthering Waves Version 2.8 Launched November 20 With New Resonator and Quest
Wuthering Waves Version 2.8 launches on November 20, introducing the enigmatic Chronorift Metropolis, Honami. Players will join Rover and the new Resonator Chisa to explore the fallen city, break the recurring Lament, and uncover hidden mysteries.

Additionally, the update adds new stories, characters, locations, and gameplay optimizations to enrich the experience. The surge of content ensures Rovers remain engaged. Moreover, this version emphasizes exploration, combat, and strategic Resonator use in a visually stunning setting.
Step Into the Fallen City: Main Quest Update
After the Rinascita arc, Rover returns to the Black Shores and discovers a new frequency, leading to a Sonoro Sphere and the Chronorift Metropolis. Once a thriving hub known as Honami City, the city suffered destruction decades ago by the Lament. Overgrown skyscrapers, flooded streets, and the Left Behind which are phantoms repeating their former lives, populate the city.

In Version 2.8, players access Main Quest Chapter II Act XII Stagnant Dawn on Wastelands and Act XII Segue Flowing Starlight in the Iris. Here, Rovers will confront the looping crisis and work to break the city’s time cycle. Consequently, players experience both narrative tension and dynamic exploration.
New Resonators: Chisa & Buling

Chisa is a 5-Star Havoc Resonator who wields a Broadblade formed from her giant scissors. She swings with precision, switches to Chainsaw Mode, and executes devastating finishing attacks. Her Resonance Skill marks enemies, pulls them closer, and slices them with calculated grace. Furthermore, Chisa adapts quickly to the city, creating a safe haven despite the Lament.

Buling, an Electro Resonator, excels in talisman divination and mystical arts. She wields a Rectifier, summoning lightning and setting formations that control enemy movement. Her Resonance Liberation immobilizes foes while dealing continuous damage. Additionally, Buling’s keen hearing and cheerful personality help her gather intelligence and assist Rover in navigating the city’s dangers.
Explore the Chronorift Metropolis, Honami City
The Chronorift Metropolis presents both beauty and peril. Chisa transforms part of the city into a safe haven café at Honami Crossing, protecting it from the Lament. From this hub, Rovers can explore other areas and uncover the city’s hidden stories.

Players will see iridescent skies, gravity-defying skyscrapers, and the iconic Neon Tower at the city center. As players traverse the city, soft breezes and drifting pink petals provide a sense of hope, balancing the city’s haunting atmosphere. Furthermore, exploration rewards careful observation and interaction with the Left Behind.
Version 2.8 New Quality-of-Life Optimizations
Version 2.8 introduces several QoL improvements. Players can now absorb all Echoes in one click, with a larger absorption radius in the Nightmare Nest. In addition, the Resonator Ascension, Weapon Ascension, and Skill Upgrade menus feature a new Auto Supplement.

This system identifies missing materials and automatically fills them using Synthesis, Conversion, or Supply Packs. If materials remain insufficient, a shortcut directs players to acquire what they need. Consequently, upgrading Resonators and weapons becomes faster and less tedious.
