Vampire Survivors maker Poncle has already turned my eyeballs into raisins with its moreish bullet hell roguelike. It’s soon threatening to rust up my finger joints with next year’s card-based spinoff Vampire Crawlers. And, now, with a menacing smile on its face, the developer is teasing a possible sequel.
When asked if the dungeon-crawling spinoff Vampire Crawlers was actually a sequel in disguise, in a chat with the Xbox blog, Poncle CEO Luca Galante said it’s “just a spinoff of Vampire Survivors” but “hopefully the first in a series of spinoffs.”

“With regards to a sequel to Vampire Survivors, we’re working on something, but we’re not talking about that just yet,” Galante teased. Alright, then, keep your secrets. There’s no shortage of base Vampire Survivors to get lost in in the meantime between dozens of updates, some massive expansions, and an absolutely gigantic Castlevania crossover. Hey, it even got online co-op recently.
Galante also revealed that the studio actually began talks with fellow indies about four years ago, with the aim of morphing Vampire Survivors into new games. “We’ve been calling these ‘experiments’, and Vampire Crawlers was the one that immediately hit its goal,” he explained, “…which is why it’s the first one we’re seeing.” So, if all goes well, we might get more Vampire [Somethings] in the not-too-distant future. Vampire Karters? Vampire Cooks? Vampire Dispatchers? I’m already in.
“On Steam alone, I probably have 3,000 hours”: Nobody loves Vampire Survivors more than its creator, who once thought nobody would play it “for more than two hours” and ironically says short games rule
