Where Winds Meet is a long-time coming for Wuxia fans. NetEase Games’ MMORPG might wear the aesthetic of Ghost of Yotei or Assassin’s Creed Shadows on its sleeve, but it’s far more fantastical than you might believe. Whether you’re learning Kung-Fu from bears or mastering numerous combat arts, no warrior is the same across the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. If you’re fast, you can be part of the Where Winds Meet technical test, giving you a chance to check it out before your friends.

NetEase Games isn’t giving you a large window to play the new mobile game, though. Starting from Sunday, November 9, 2025, and concluding on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the Where Winds Meet technical test is a brief slot to try out the full game. No barriers, no locked off areas, the entire game is available to try out. Of course, there is a small catch or two to consider. First of all, you need to own an iOS device, whether that’s one of the best iPhones around or an iPad.

Secondly, the developer is asking players to help fine-tune a few elements of the game. This can be anything from quests to more granular details like reporting back on how well the game performs on your iPhone. To gather your feedback, NetEase says that it plans to send players “an experience survey and a feedback form. You can use the feedback form anytime during the test to report bugs or suggestions.” But what about those of you rocking an Android phone or maybe even a handheld PC like the Steam Deck?

Unfortunately, this technical test doesn’t consider other platforms. Given that the game is so close to launch, you’ll just need to wait until November 14, 2025, to give the game a try. At first, NetEase Games is rolling out Where Winds Meet on PlayStation 5 and PC, through the PlayStation Store, Steam, Microsoft Store, and the Epic Games Store, respectively.

Although the iOS and Android versions launched in China earlier this year, with a hefty four million downloads, the studio has yet to confirm a date for other regions. This is the next major playtest for Where Winds Meet, following a closed beta test a few months ago. For those of you not sure what to expect, NetEase sums up the game’s premise as the following: “Players will assume the role of a young sword master as they embark on a journey to uncover the mysteries of their own identity.”

You know, everyday stuff. If you fancy giving it a try, you can sign up for the Where Winds Meet technical test here.
