Not too much is known about Honkai Star Rail update 4.0 – especially officially – but it was thought that the name may be ‘Benzaitengoku‘, and the area would have a Japanese influence. It’s also thought that this is part of the Edo Star location.
However, according to AnonLeaks, due to tensions rising between China and Japan, rumor has it that Hoyoverse is changing the vibe of the next area so that it’s not as themed as before. In short, China and Japan are in the middle of a “spat” currently due to comments made by Japanese politician Takaichi.
Leakers have gone back and forth on the existence of a 3.9 patch, but it now seems likely to give the team more time to tweak 4.0. Upcoming characters allegedly include Yaoguang, another member of the Xianzhou, Hanami, a Sparkle SP, a Yae Sakura SP (from Honkai Impact 3rd), a Silverwolf SP, and a Blade SP. It may be that Yae and Hanami undergo changes, too, as both names are Japanese in origin.
As mentioned, there’s currently no official confirmation of this for now. Though Zenless Zone Zero announced that Japanese, English, and Korean voice acting will be missing for most of the 2.4 quest, it’s thought that this is related to the tensions, but again, it’s not confirmed. We’ll need to wait for further information on both scenarios.
