If all else fails, fix it with fire. This is my general philosophy for handling my taxes and Embark’s band-aid for the locked door exploit in Arc Raiders while the devs work on stamping out the glitch for good.
A hot fix came from the studio just this morning, and really tripling down on it being ‘hot’, the solution is to simply set anyone who tries to use the glitch to their advantage aflame. Figuratively and in-game, of course – nobody’s committing any arson here.
Locked rooms now turn you into a fireball if you glitch inside from r/ArcRaiders
A sad sight; pathetic really. But also hilarious and effective. This is definitely preventative, and it should provide more than a few good laughs while players discover how Embark handles issues it can’t immediately turn off. The Reddit clip genuinely made me laugh out loud, and it’s going down well among the community.
“THIS is the way you deal with issues you can’t fast-fix because you need to draw a pentagram and chant for 40 hours to make the game engine behave properly,” says one Reddit commenter. “That’s what I’m talking about baby!” adds another.
Considering people originally wanted exploiters banned, knowing all they get for their trouble is a slow, painful death should do nicely. Whatever’s causing the problem will likely be fixed soon, but I think the devs should either leave this as is or incorporate it into the solution somehow. Either way, it’s providing some good entertainment.
Arc Raiders gear tiers get even messier as one gunsmith finds low-rarity mods are by far the best bang for your buck, and suddenly I don’t feel bad about my uncommon blueprints
