Do you wonder what it’s like to hurl a bear through the air to unlock hidden martial arts talent? If that’s you, then Where Winds Meet makes that obscure dream a reality. The debut game from Everstone Studio is already off to a flying start on PS5 and PC, with a limited mobile rollout in China earlier this year. Now, the Where Winds Meet release date is set for iOS and Android users, and you don’t have to wait too long.

I thought that the launch date for Where Winds Meet’s mobile version would be quite a way off. While the game runs pretty smoothly on the ROG Ally in my Where Winds Meet review, it’s a huge game, one that I’m worried might underperform on lesser hardware. But you’ll get to be the judge of that soon. The Where Winds Meet release date is Friday, December 12, 2025, for the iPhone and Android versions of the game.

If you’re already playing on the PlayStation 5 or PC iteration of it, don’t worry. You can reap the benefits of cross-progression, which is across all platforms the game is launching on. Whether you’re picking up a few quests on your Steam Deck or roaming around on your PS5, you can dive back into it on your mobile when you feel like it. I’m a big fan of free mobile games that let you continue your experience regardless of platform, so this is a huge plus in my book.

What’s even better is that Where Winds Meet supports plenty of the best mobile controllers out there. I’m an advocate of the Backbone Pro, so if you own that or something similar from GameSir, for example, you can avoid touchscreen controls if you’d prefer. Pre-registration for Where Winds Meet is live now on the Google Play Store and App Store, which means it’ll automatically install when it becomes available.

As for the game itself, I’m still quite mixed on it. There’s a lot to do, whether you’re a fishing fiend or resource hoarder, but it still feels a bit too directionless. Imagine every popular gaming trope right now; you can bet that Where Winds Meet has them all. However, it shines in combat, which strikes a neat balance between something like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Devil May Cry.

But who knows, the game is young. It can certainly get better. Right now, Where Winds Meet is taking TikTok by storm. Players are making weird and wonderful characters, showcasing its massive map, or just continuing to hurl bears at other NPCs. It just doesn’t get old, really.

Will you be playing it? If you are, you can find new adventurers to squad up with over at the Pocket Tactics Discord server.
