If you love anime-based games as much as we do, you’re in luck with Blue Lock Rivals, the fan-made soccer game based on the hit sports anime Blue Lock. Confused about the game’s update system? Blink and you miss them, so we’re here to give you the lowdown on the newest Blue Lock Rivals update and any future ones.

They come every seven days, give or take. Thankfully, you can stay up-to-date in-game with the countdown timer in the main lobby, right where you can buy the Battlepass. Speaking of the pass, we think it’s well worth it, though if you’d prefer not to spend real money, Blue Lock Rivals codes can get the job done, too.

What is the current Blue Lock Rivals update?

While previous updates have brought us new features, such as events and balancing, the current Blue Lock Rivals update brought us a rework of character Oliver Aiku. This is alongside the release of the new Serpent Aiku bundle, new codes, and bug fixes. The super-rare Aiku has a new skill-set, which has Forced Defense, Total Clearance, Snake Interception, and Snake Vision – plus his new awakening moves, which are Serpent Wall and 100% Clearance.

These five moves make him a strong character for both defense and interception, particularly if you use an awakening on him, making him a powerful unit to have. To put it in perspective, one of the devs even suggested in the Blue Lock Rivals Discord server that Snake Interception was one of their favorite moves in the game. Meanwhile, in his bundle, you can claim the Serpent Surfboard emote, five lucky style spins, five lucky flow spins, and a Japan player card for Robux. Hopefully the spins will lead to you pulling Aiku – good luck.

This update launched on November 8, 2025, and is due to end on November 15, so make sure you get involved before then.

When is the next Blue Lock Rivals update coming?

The next update is on November 15, 2025, with at least a new Battlepass coming to the game. The hint currently displayed in the Battlepass menu is, ‘it’s turkey time’, which indicates a Thanksgiving theme. Because of how intense the game’s Halloween celebrations were, we can probably expect to see Thanksgiving-themed codes, items, and cosmetics.

Aside from that, there may be further general bug fixes, and it seems like other character relaunches are in the works, based on the number of ‘vaulted’ characters there are. If you weren’t aware, Aiku was once ‘vaulted’, which is just the developer’s word for unobtainable, so if the other characters locked away follow suit, we could be in for many more re-releases. This is just our estimate, though, as there aren’t too many confirmed details about what it will entail just yet. Keep an eye out for updates from the developer on the community page, or check back here.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
