[GUIDE] Where Winds Meet: Expanding Your Medicine Capacity
Running out of healing items during intense boss battles can quickly turn victory into defeat. In Where Winds Meet, players start with limited medicine slots, which can make challenging encounters significantly harder. Understanding how to expand your medicine capacity is essential for surviving tougher fights and progressing through the game’s martial arts world.
When you first begin your journey in Where Winds Meet, your character can only carry and use one medicine at a time. This restriction forces you to play carefully during early encounters, but it’s not a permanent limitation.
The key to expanding your medicine capacity lies in the Blissful Retreat area. Once you reach this location during your adventure, head to the Evercare Clinic and look for an NPC named Yao Yaoyao. This character handles medicine capacity upgrades and serves as your main contact for improving your healing capabilities.

Medicine capacity increases are tied to your character level. At Level 4, your capacity expands from one medicine to two, giving you an extra healing option during fights. When you reach Level 6, the capacity increases again to three medicines, providing even more safety during extended battles.

Expanding your Medicine Chest requires a specific material called Medicinal Tales. These items can be obtained by defeating World Bosses or completing quests throughout the game. World Bosses present challenging fights that test your combat skills, and defeating these powerful enemies rewards you with materials like Medicinal Tales. Quest rewards also provide these upgrade materials, so pay attention to completion bonuses as you explore.

Since boss encounters in Where Winds Meet feature their own stories and emotional moments that make fights feel meaningful rather than repetitive, having enough medicine to survive these battles lets you experience these narrative elements without constant frustration. The game’s world bosses, which come with cutscenes and backstories, become more enjoyable when you’re properly prepared with expanded medicine capacity ready to go.
