The app includes all the text from the Oxford Learner’s Pocket Grammar by John Eastwood.
There are two main search modes in this app: full text search and contents browse. Switch between them using the icon at the top of the search list.
Tap the Search box and type a word or phrase related to the topic you want. To get the best results you should type a whole word or words. Then tap the section you want when it appears in the Index.
Scroll up and down to browse the list of all 181 sections, which are organized according to topics. Tap the section name you want.
Tap the History icon to see a list of your recent searches.
To clear your search history tap the trash icon at the top of the screen.
To move through your recent searches, use the forward/back arrows on the top toolbar.
Each section explains how the grammar works and how to use it. Example sentences illustrate the grammar in use and warn of common errors to avoid.

Some sections include abbreviations and symbols. Please look at ‘About the app’ for information on abbreviations and symbols, and what they mean.
Some explanations about pronunciation include audio files. To listen to the pronunciation, tap on the speaker icon.
To add a section to Favourites, go to the section you want to add and tap on the star icon in the toolbar above.
You can organize your favourite sections in folders, if you wish. To create a new folder, go to Favourites, then tap the ‘Create folder’ icon on the top toolbar. Alternatively you can create a new folder whenever you add a new section to Favourites. If you don't want to put the section in a named folder, tap on 'None'.
All your folders and favourite sections will be stored alphabetically for quick and easy reference. To view your Favourites later, go to Favourites and tap on a folder or section to see it.
You can delete individual sections or entire folders from your Favourites by tapping and holding on the name of the section or folder you wish to delete.
To delete all your Favourites, tap on the trash icon, and tap 'Yes'.
If you also have the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary app installed on your device, you can tap on any word to see the dictionary's entry for that word. Tap the back button on your device to return to the Learner's Grammar app.
You can personalize your app in Settings. Tap the icon at the top left of your screen to reveal the side menu and choose Settings. Here you can change the size of the text in the entries and the index. You can also control the behaviour of the keyboard. You can opt in or out of receiving news from Oxford University Press.
Tap the icon at the top left of your screen to reveal the side menu and choose News to see notifications about our latest products and special offers. When new news items are available the number of items is shown in an orange box. You can opt out of receiving news in the Settings menu.
