Grow a Garden Smithing event guide

The Grow a Garden Smithing event is here, introducing four new crafting benches, a bunch of new seeds, pets, gears, cosmetics, and more. It also brings back the digging minigame from the Halloween event with a whole new vibe and fresh rewards to claim.

This event only lasts for a limited time, so you’d better get moving if you want to claim all the rewards and get your hands on those event-exclusive items and gem-themed pets. Luckily, we’re here to help, as we dive into all the different event mechanics, crafting recipes, and more.

What is the Grow a Garden Smithing event?

The Smithing Event is a limited-time event that runs from Saturday, November 15, until Saturday, November 29. It premiered in the 1.32.0 Grow a Garden update, following the Safari event.

The Smithing event introduces four crafting workbenches that allow you to create a variety of event-exclusive seeds, gears, pets, and cosmetics. It also brings back the familiar digging minigame and improves on it, allowing you to dig up a variety of treasures and rewards.

There are four different crafting benches in the Smithing event – a seeds workbench, a gears workbench, a pets workbench, and a cosmetics workbench. Each one has its own set of recipes that allow you to craft specific event-limited items.

Grow a Garden digging

The Smithing Event’s digging mechanic is similar to the one from the Halloween-themed Grow a Garden event, but this time it has seen some improvements. During the event, you can participate in a digging minigame in the shop menu to obtain a variety of exclusive pets, gear, seeds, and cosmetics.

You have a maximum of ten digs available at a time, and must use them to uncover treasure. Your digs increase by one every 40 minutes, or you can use Robux to purchase more.

The digging plot can have between three to seven treasures available at a time, and each treasure can span more than one tile, meaning they take multiple dig attempts to unearth. Once you’ve collected all of the treasures available, you can reset the digging island with one trillion sheckles or 59 Robux.

What is Grow a Garden coal?

Coal is an item from the Smithing event that you can use to obtain sheckles or in various crafting recipes from the event workbenches. It’s a unique type of Grow a Garden gear that you can get as a reward after submitting items to the furnace in the hut. The smithing dog pet can also dig it up.

Coal comes in four different rarities – common, rare, legendary, and divine – and each one offers a different amount of sheckles.

What is the Grow a Garden gem egg?

The gem egg is a Grow a Garden egg exclusive to the Smithing event. You can obtain it from event rewards or by crafting it at the pet workbench. It takes eight hours to hatch, after which point it gives you one of six random pets.

What is the Grow a Garden ruby squid?

The ruby squid is a divine pet exclusive to the Smithing event, which you have a 0.5% chance to get from a gem egg. Its ability allows it to continuously copy a random pet’s passive, completely ignoring the cooldown.
