Is there a Zelda movie release date?
Yes, Nintendo has announced a Zelda movie release date of May 7, 2027. A slight delay from the original release date of March 2027 was announced in June 2025.
Nintendo confirmed on November 8, 2024, that the live-action Zelda movie is coming, and now we know exactly when we get to explore a real-world Hyrule. Details are thin on the ground at the moment, but Shigeru Miyamoto is on the team along with Spider-Man director Avi Arad and Wes Ball.
Do we know any cast members for the Zelda movie?
It’s official – on July 16, Nintendo confirmed on X that Bo Bragason will portray Zelda, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link. Both are young, upcoming actors, with Bragason in 2025’s King and Conqueror, and Ainsworth in Everything’s Going to Be Great.

Is a Zelda TV series being made?
Currently, there are no plans to make a The Legend of Zelda TV series. Rumors once hinted towards a The Legend of Zelda TV series for Netflix, but that doesn’t exist. As reported by Eurogamer, podcaster and TV presenter Adam Conover is on record stating that Netflix was once producing The Legend of Zelda TV series, but Netflix canceled the project alongside a claymation Star Fox project.
